what is shear connector?

Shear connectors, sometimes known generically as Concrete Anchors or Nelson Studs, are used in Steel-Concrete composite structures. They act as reinforcing members, locking the supporting structure to the concrete floor. Structures including Rail and Pedestrian Bridges, Multi-Storey Car Parks and Offices, Mezzanine Offices, Commercial and Industrial Buildings.

shear connector studs shall be of suitable design for arc welding to steel structures with use of automatic timed stud welding equipment.  welder must be connected to to a suitable source of direct current straight polarity power.
